J loves his school. He totally loves it! He loves his teacher Ms. Liz and she says that he does really well in class. He wanders around the rooma bit and is not sitting down for the group activities, but he will learn that in time. It is his first time being in a structured environment with other kids so i think that he will come around to things.

I am happy that he likes it and doesn't seem to be scared about going. I worried about that a bit, but i have really busted my ass to get him into a lot of playgroups and socialized this summer. He does well with other kids, but his speech is still not there. He is starting to say some 3 and 4 word sentences and will imitate words he hears you say, sing some songs, but he doesn't always communicate his personal needs to you. We meet with the Public School Director and the Speech Therapist for Johnston County next Thursday to start his sessions. It will be held at one of the elementary schools so that will be some more good exposure for J. He has no problem sitting for his speech therapy sessions so i know he is capable of paying attention to things. I think the preschool group thing throws him for a loop though.

We are undecided on keeping him in the Montessori for full preschool when he turns 4 next summer or enrolling him in a public preschool. I like the smaller class sizes and we are looking at enrolling him in the newest Elementary school in our area as it has small class sizes too. Middle and high school will not be in our area i can tell you that. The stuff that goes on in those level schools around here is terrifying and they don't teach outside the standard test which isn't what we want. We want to encourage the boys to explore so i have two private schools that i like a lot and that i have taught kids (horseback riding) and so i have a lot experience with them. The drawback is the cost. Oh golly i will be in debt FOREVER! But you can't put a price on yours child's learning, i know and i don't have any issues with it, but i seriously had to take a moment.
